By Emily Feimster Breaking up is difficult, especially when you're in the public eye, but nothing cures a broken heart like a brand new relationship. Or so seems to be the case in Hollywood. Yep, these days it's all about finding love on the rebound.

Jennifer Aniston certainly didn't let the grass grow under her feet after she and husband Brad Pitt split up. While Pitt and the saucy Angelina Jolie were being seen here, there, and everywhere, Aniston cozied up to her co-star from the upcoming "The Break Up," Vince Vaughn, who was more than happy to show her his hometown of Chicago during filming. Did he show her more? Lots of ink has been spilled regarding what may have been some hot trysts of the stars, and paparazzi have caught them in clinches that suggest they're more than just - to use Jennifer's description -- "dear friends."

Hey, what are friends for?

When it came to getting over a five year relationship, Tom Cruise proved to be quite the distraction for "Dawson Creek's" Katie Holmes. It was only in March that she and Chris Klein called it quits, but by June she was arm-in-arm with the world famous movie star. Tom 'n' Katie's first date included eating sushi on his private jet. Uh, Chris who? Now Cruise and Holmes are engaged and expecting. Ouch!

Renee Zellweger seemed on cloud nine after marrying country singer Kenny Chesney, but the "fraudulent" marriage came to an end after only four months. It's not too surprising, though, considering she ended her long-running, on-again, off-again relationship with White Stripes front man Jack White over the holidays of 2004 and met Chesney only a few weeks later at a tsunami relief benefit. Kenny was also fresh from a break-up.

They're not the only rebounders not to work out.

Just look at Jennifer Lopez, who went from one rebound to the next. Having already been married once, she got hitched to her dance choreographer, Cris Judd, soon after ending her two-year relationship with rap mogul Diddy. Their marriage lasted over a year and all seemed fine until she met Mr. Ben Affleck on the set of their stinker "Gigli." Suddenly, it was as if Judd was what we call a seat filler. In fact, she became engaged to Affleck before her divorce was even final. Once she and Affleck FINALLY parted ways, it was only a few months later that she began dating her now husband Marc Anthony. Whew!

As Mr. and Mrs. Anthony - who are soon to make a movie together - seem to be proving, some love-on-the-rebound relationships really work.

Perhaps for Britney Spears, as for J.Lo, it was a matter of 'if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.' Spears had a quickie marriage in January last year to what's-his-name, turned to Colin Farrell for some hot lovin' in March, but then got serious with Kevin Federline in April. They're now happily married with a brand new baby boy. Okay, time will tell how happily.

Julia Roberts ended what seemed like a perfect three-year relationship with Benjamin Bratt, and a year later married Danny Moder. Don't feel too bad for Bratt, though, he found his soul mate, Talisa Soto, almost immediately married as well.

After five years of marriage to John Stamos, Rebecca Romijn soon found love again with "Crossing Jordan's" Jerry O'Connell.

Uma Thurman's heart was broken after her husband of five years, Ethan Hawke, cheated on her, but it wasn't long before she moved on to the hotelier Andre Balazs. The pair even bought a home, er mansion, together in New York.

We certainly can't leave out one of our favorite British actresses, Kate Winslet, who ended her three-year marriage to James Threapleton in September of 2001. By November, she was with her current husband, director Sam Mendes.

Well, be it a rebound or not, it doesn't appear likely there will never be a shortage when it comes to hooking up in Hollywood.
