CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED CCM ROCKER SARAH KELLY LANDS GRAMMY NOM FOR SOPHOMORE RELEASE 'WHERE THE PAST MEETS TODAY' CAPPING OFF 2006 ON A HIGH NOTE

KELLY RECEIVED FIRST GRAMMY NOM FOR 2004 DEBUT RELEASE 'TAKE ME AWAY'

(LOS ANGELES, CA) - Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Sarah Kelly, whose earthy soulfulness has often been compared to Janis Joplin, has landed a Grammy nomination for her sophomore release 'Where The Past Meets Today' in the 'Best Rock or Rap Artist Gospel' category, placing her at 2-for-2: She received her first Grammy nomination in 2004 for her debut release 'Take Me Away' -- and is now positioned firmly on the shortlist of breakout artists to watch in 2007. Kelly's passionate vocal delivery and unique artistic presence has enabled her to deeply connect with a diverse, multi-demographic fanbase. 'Where The Past Meets Today' was produced by Mike Clink (Guns'N Roses) and features performances by Slash, Nick Lashley (Alanis Morissette) and Chris Chaney (Panic Channel, Jane's Addiction). It is a highly personal work which chronicles her triumph over adversity story, in breaking the cycle of domestic abuse. It is also about celebrating new beginnings and embracing change.

Kelly is set to roll out this theme, kicking off 2007 with a special, solo acoustic performance at her 1.11 event (on January 11) downtown in the loft district for invited entertainment industry guests. She will be joined by Clink, along with many of the artists who've performed on her current release.

After the Grammys in February, Kelly heads to Austin for SXSW, where she is confirmed to perform at a private, invite-only event taking place at the home of Polly Parsons (daughter of late alt/country rock icon Gram Parsons), on a co-bill featuring Brandi Shearer, whose Amoeba Records release Pink Lady, is due out in Spring 2007. Kelly first worked with Parsons and Amoeba when she was asked to perform as a special guest on closing night of "Taking The Jesus Pill," an original theatre work that Parsons oversaw as Executive Producer.

Kelly will also perform at the 4th Annual SXSW Heidi's Night of Beauty party at Moonshine, an event which also includes Shearer on the bill.

Kelly, a Rockford, IL native who now resides in Los Angeles, has enjoyed an amazing run in 2006, which includes a successful stint participating in this year's 2006 CMJ Music Marathon, immediately followed by a landmark performance at the Fallen Fireman Memorial held at Blockbuster Pavilion. Kelly was truly honored to perform at the ceremony, in which she also received a personal reach out from Governor Schwarzenegger.
