Fox rolled out the red carpet this week for its new beloved show,
"Glee," as the cast and crew came together at an L.A. high school to celebrate the series' premiere. Guests were treated to slushies,
candy and popcorn as they enjoyed a pep rally complete with
cheerleaders and then watched the premiere episode on a giant movie screen in the high school's gymnasium.
After a successful screening, complete with lots of laughter, cast members already started thinking about how things might change if they do indeed have a hit on their hands.
"I have all of my baseball caps and fake prescription glasses ready for when I want to go grocery shopping. I am set!" joked Chris Colfer, who had a blast doing the "Single Ladies" dance at the after-party with fellow cast member Jenna Ushkowitz.
"I'm just not going to leave my house," added Kevin McHale, who also showed off his dance moves, despite being in a wheelchair in the show.
"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy couldn't be there to partake in the festivities because he was shooting a movie in Rome, but he was certainly on people's minds.
"We all know Ryan Murphy is a genius. We're all pretty confident in him," noted cast member Mark Salling. "I was a little bit intimidated by him at first, but then you get to know him and he's a really cool guy and very accessible."
Veteran star Jane Lynch also seemed very accessible to the rest of the cast as she hugged on them at the after-party like a proud mom. Matthew Morrison, who plays the glee club teacher, looked on with a big smile as he watched everybody break it down on the dance floor. The rest of the guests munched on grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and salad.
Star Cory Monteith, who had never sung before getting cast as the popular high school football star, told us he was just letting it all sink in.
"We ran across a thousand screaming teenagers at every mall during our mall tour. It's been a very cult kind of reaction already," said Monteith. "So far, though, things have only changed a little bit. There has been a lot of stuff we've had to do with the press and I've never done any of that before, but I think things will change more, once the show has been on a while."
