So Nicole Kidman casually dropped the bomb heard ‘round the world that Grammy-winning Country superstar Keith Urban was no longer just her boyfriend, but her fiance. Since her very ugly, public divorce from Tom a few years back, Nicole has been romantically linked – real or rumored -- to an interesting array of men from Lenny Kravitz to Adrien Brody to Elizabeth Hurley’s ex-boyfriend, Stephen Bing. However, she has more in common with the singer/guitarist than she ever did with the others or with Tom. Both Nicole and Keith hail from Australia, both are able to carry a tune. And that extra three inches Urban has on Tom – er, only in height as far as we know -- assures that Nicole no longer has to look down on her man. Growing up Aussie: After the family moved from New Zealand, Urban moved around a lot in the city of Brisbane before the family relocated to a 12-acre farm in Caboolture a town North of Brisbane.		Growing up American: Cruise also moved around a lot as a child in the United States and Canada. By the time he graduated he'd attended some eight elementary schools and three high schools.
Childhood Dream: To be a Country Music Star to which end he learned to play the guitar at age 6 and began winning talent contests at age 8.		Childhood Dream: To be a Catholic Priest to which end he briefly attended a Franciscan seminary in Cincinnati.
Inspiration: Urban became enthralled with Country Music while listening to his parents' country records collection that included such American Country stars as Don Williams, Glen Campbell and Charley Pride, among others. By twelve, he was booking his band in local clubs, and at fifteen, he quit school to hit the road.		Inspiration: Cruise became enthralled with acting after a knee injury sidelined him from his high school wrestling team. Unable to wrestle, he auditioned for the lead role in his high school's production of 'Guys and Dolls' and decided he'd found his calling.
Breakthrough: After signing with EMI in Australia in 1990, Urban's first solo album charted four number one country hits Down Under. He moved to Nashville in 1992 to break into the Country scene in America. His self-titled American debut in 2000 garnered three top 5 hits and won Urban the title of Top New Male Vocalist Award at the 2001 Academy of Country Music Awards.		Breakthrough: After landing a small role in the 1981 Brooke Shields film "Endless Love" (ironic, since Endless Love is the last thing the feuding actors have for one another), Cruise had a more substantial role in the film, "Taps" with George C. Scott, Timothy Hutton and Sean Penn. He next starred in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Outsiders," but it was his role in the 1983 "Risky Business" that put him on the Hollywood Hot List.
Past Loves: Urban and former girlfriend, Niki Taylor, were a couple for almost 12 months but split in 2003. The singer has said in the past that his career is too demanding a mistress for him to keep a relationship going.		Past Loves: Cruise was married to Mimi Rogers, the woman who introduced him woman who introduce him to Scientology, from 1987-1990. After divorcing Nicole, he was involved with his "Vanilla Sky" co-star Penelope Cruz, but that ended in March, 2004.
Personal Demons: Urban has been very open about his battles with alcohol and addiction to cocaine in the late 90s. In 1998 he checked into the Cumberland Heights treatment center in Nashville and cleaned up his act.		Personal Demons: Cruise only recently revealed that he was the victim of child abuse as a youngster. In a Parade Magazine article, he recalled his father as "a bully and a coward" and "a merchant of chaos."
Good Samaritan: In 2002, Urban was passing a wedding chapel in Pigeon Forge, TN, where he heard his hit "Your Everything" playing. He grabbed a guitar and surprised the newlyweds by playing the song in person.		Good Samaritan: In 1996, Cruise stopped to help a hit and run victim who turned out to be aspiring Brazilian actress, Heloisa Vinhas. The lady's rescuer even went so far as to pay her hospital bills.
Hottie Factor: Chosen as one of People Magazine's 25 Sexiest Men last year, Urban has some catching up to do to reach all Tom's accolades. But no need to worry when women shout out marriage proposals at all of your concerts.		Hottie Factor: Chosen as People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 1990. People also rated him among the 50 most beautiful people in the world. In 1995, Empire magazine ranked him among the 100 sexiest stars in film history.
Marriage Could Boost His Acting Career: The gorgeous Urban is poised to make his mark in Hollywood. He's been signed to star in a romantic drama that will begin shooting early next year. He performed in a theater group as a kid and wants to revisit those talents. Now that Oscar-winner Nicole has almost as much weight to throw around in the business as her ex-hubby, Tom, a liaison with the lovely lady can only open even more doors for Urban.		Marriage Could Boost His Acting Career: The gorgeous Nicole was already a star of some repute in her native country of Australia when she was cast in Cruise's 1990 "Days of Thunder" auto racing movie and they subsequently fell in love.
