Heather Locklear Vs. Denise Richards

By Emily Feimster

It’s all fun and games when you and your friends can share a common bond in liking rock stars and bad boys -- until someone loses a husband. Just ask Heather Locklear! Yes, she and Denise Richards went from best friends one day to arch enemies the next and all of this over a guy. A guy who looks like he goes days without showering, no less. I mean, we love Bon Jovi and all, but how is it that Richie Sambora has two of Hollywood’s hottest ladies breaking out the claws over him? But who are we to complain? After all, who doesn’t love a good cat fight!?! So take a look as we see how these former friends match up!

Little Ones: Daughter Ava Elizabeth, 8. Little Ones: Daughters Sam, 2, and Lola Rose, 1.
Family Matters: The youngest of four sisters, Locklear is the daughter of Bill, the Dean of the School of Engineering at UCLU, and Diane, an administrative assistant at Disney.  Family Matters: At age 15, she moved to Oceanside, CA with her younger sister, her father, Irv, and mother, Joni, who owns a string of coffee shops called Jitters.
Assets: Who doesn't love that blonde hair, blue eyes, and killer body?  Assets: Um, let's just say she's really, really hot!
Hot Stuff: She was named as one of Sly Magazine's hottest women over 40. Now there's something to be proud of!  Hot Stuff: Richards was named the "Sexiest Mom of 2005" by In Touch magazine.
Ra Ra Ra!: After being rejected from her high school cheerleading squad, she joined the drama club. Oh, come on!  Ra Ra Ra!: Apparently her school was smarter as she was lucky enough to make it on the cheerleading squad.
Early Days: While attending UCLA, Locklear began modeling and working in commercials for the school store. In 1979, she landed her first TV role in a TV movie and then won an episode of "ChiPS" a year later.  Early Days: After modeling in Paris, Tokyo, and New York, she spent the 90s appearing in lower-budget films and TV movies. Her first starring role in a wide theatrical release was "Starship Troopers" in 1997, which was followed by the cult film "Wild Things."
Big Break: Aaron Spelling cast her in the role of Sammy Jo Dean in the second season of "Dynasty" where she proved a popular addition. Spelling then immediately cast her opposite William Shatner in "T.J. Hooker," which sent her soaring into the Hollywood stratosphere.  Big Break: Bond. James Bond. Yep, Richards busted out into the big time when she was cast as Dr. Christmas Jones in high grossing Bond flick "The World is Not Enough." It certainly didn't hurt either when she married Hollywood's most infamous bad boy, Charlie Sheen.
TV Triumphs: Following the demise of "Dynasty", Locklear found herself in the unpleasant position of being a somewhat legendary TV veteran, though still relatively young. In the mid-90's, she was brought on to "Melrose Place" as a guest star to help boost the ratings, though she soon became TV's hottest vixen. After that, she was cast alongside Michael J. Fox in "Spin City" where she quickly fell in the audience's good graces.  TV Triumphs: Early in her career, she guest starred on "Seinfeld," which won her much newfound notice. In the episode, she played the young daughter of the NBC executive who was about to cut a deal with George and Jerry, but because they got caught looking down her blouse, the deal was lost. She also had successful guest spots on Locklear's "Spin City" and Sheen's "Two and a Half Men."
Movies: Let's see...there's "Swamp Thing." Need we say more? Ok, ok. It's true that she has had less luck on the big screen, but her better films include "Money Talks," "Uptown Girls," and "The Perfect Man."  Movies: Richards might not be in line to win an Oscar anytime soon, but when it comes to bringing sex appeal to the big screen, she's the woman. Some of her more memorable flicks include "Undercover Brother," "Love Actually," and "Scary Movie 3."
Accolades: She was nominated for Best Actress in a TV Drama four times for "Melrose Place." She was also nominated twice for "Spin City."  Accolades: Does getting the cover of Playboy count? Or how about an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Kiss with Matt Dillon and Neve Campbell?
Drama: After years of his rumored promiscuity, Locklear filed for divorce from her rocker husband in February. It wasn't long before tabloids reported that Sambora had been getting cozy with Richards (a.k.a. Locklear's best friend and neighbor). Ouch! The news has since sparked a public feud between the former friends as they've cut off ties from each other. Locklear has since been spotted with funnyman David Spade. Oh, how he must be thanking his lucky stars…and Richards!  Drama: Richards began making headlines a year ago when she first filed for divorce from Sheen. Though the two attempted to reconcile, she has since drawn up a laundry list of complaints, from drug addiction to adultery, to abuse, which has led to a restraining order on her ex. Gone are the tears, though, since becoming inseparable from Sambora. However, she insists that their romance did not start until after his marriage and that her friendship with Locklear was already over. Riiight!
Quotable Quote: "When I look in the mirror, I see the girl I was when I was growing up with braces, crooked teeth, a baby face and a skinny body."  Quotable Quote: "I found out early I could make more money modeling than I could waitressing and scooping Haagen-Dazs. But I always wanted to be an actress."
Current Activities: She recently completed the movie "Oranges" with Tom Arnold and Tom Sizemore. In the meantime, she is filming the TV project "Women of a Certain Age," in which she plays a widow embarking on a new life. We also recommend that she spend some free time making better friends. Current Activities: Besides vacationing in Europe with Sambora while he and Bon Jovi are on tour, she's spending her time being a mom. It is rumored that she and Neve Campbell might team up again for the movie "Backstabbers." Also, she'll be joining the Pussycat Dolls for some celebrity performances.
