It's just like that game young teens played in the '60s: Who's your favorite Beatle? McCartney topped a poll of Americans--presumably those same teen girls all grown up now--with nearly 30 percent of the vote. He dominated among those over 30 and over 65.

The poll, conducted by Zogby International, queried 4,737 U.S. adults. Coming in second was John Lennon at 16 percent, George Harrison at 10 percent and Ringo Starr at 9 percent.

A surprising 22 percent said they don't like the Beatles, while 3 percent said they didn't know the British rock group's music well enough to have an opinion.

Even though there have been no new recordings in years, the Beatles are enjoying a resurgence in popularity.

Zogby noted that McCartney likely came in the top spot due to his good looks, longevity and because he is still making music.
