My girlfriend and I had been seeing each other for about 5 months or so, when this happened. One night, we had been out picking up a few things and when we returned back to her house, it was getting late. We laid down on the couch and fell asleep. She was laying up against me with one of her legs over one of mine, on her side. She woke me up a couple of hours later when she got up and ran to the bathroom. I figured she just needed to relieve herself from some of the water she had drank earlier, so I just tried to go back to sleep. A few minutes later she came back to the couch and started saying she was sorry. Not just, "I am sorry," but, "I am so, so sorry!" I just asked, "What?" She looked at me and said, "You don't know?" I replied, "No." She informed me that she had started her period and didn't know it was time for her to start. She gently told me I needed to look at my pants. I looked down and had a spot of blood on my pants as big as my hand. She was so embarrassed and pleaded for me to forgive her. She was more upset than I was. It didn't really bother me, I just wanted to go back to sleep. She still apologizes and it has been 4 months. I didn't let it bother me even though this had never happened before and I had never even heard of it. She is very cautious now when it gets around that time of the month.
