Poetry: Life Long Love
Strawflower
by Allan Traphagan

How sweet the kiss,
to reverse your ambitions,
but as a Humming Bird
you fell into torpor,
so I let you go
tofly away,
a flashing jewel
in sunbeams.

You fell through the clouds,
a painted face...
flipping through pages
in linear grins
and vampire eyes of dark jade
blends
vacant to remember
aborting shyness for hunger.

Not a clue remains
of your desperate shadow,
you are a straw flower,
dry as a kiss in the wind.

What did you think of this poem?
I loved it!
It was good.
I'm pretty neutral.
Not really my style.
It left me cold.
