Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
When I Think About Love I Think About
by marlee vang

When I think about love I think about you
How you came into my life and brought me joy, happiness, and sadness…
When I think about love I think about the pain you’ve caused me even though you don’t seem to notice…To hear the words, "I don’t like you that way," it brings me tears like a drifting waterfall that can never get passed by…
When I think about love I think about what we could have had…
To have you right here by my side and holding me so dearly tight, and just comforting me with your love and warmth…
When I think about love I think about how you could have been the one…
The one who would always be there for me through thick and thin…
The one who would never ever let me down
But I guess I was all so wrong about you. I’ve held grudges against you even though I really don’t want to because I love you too much to do that, but unfortunately, I have to.
Because of all the pain, tears, happiness, joy, and heartaches you’ve caused me these last couple of years…
When I think about love I think about what you did to my heart…
You tore it into pieces that will never be put back together…
But like I always say, " I will always be loving you, caring, and will always be thinking about you and your amazingly sweet, cute, most beautiful smile,"
I really do and honestly love you with all of my heart even though you can never accept it…

It was good.
I'm pretty neutral.
Not really my style.
It left me cold.
