Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
To the One I Love
by Bree Fletcher

I had you here for a little while
You made me laugh, you were my smile
My world with you had every star]
You were so perfect, by so very far
Whatever happened I will never know
All I know is that I loved you so
I opened up, and gave you my heart
I had different intentions during the start
You showed my otherwise, and helped me believe
Believe in myself, and that you'd never leave
I was wrong, and you walked away
You left me broken, with little to say
Moving on has taken some time
I miss how it felt to love and to shine
I know I don't need you, but I miss you so much
The way I felt when we would touch
The thoughts and pain that I've gone through
You'd understand, if you only knew
There's someone out there to take your place
I'm taking it slow, at my own steady pace
Will it be better or worse, that chance is around
But my love for you was so easily found
Hopefully one day my time will come
The time I realize you weren't the one
As of now, I dream that you are
Will you come back? Can you be my star?
It's up to you as I sit and wait
Crying inside, so full of hate
Was that the end, or is there a new start?
To the one I love, you still have my heart!

What did you think of this poem?
I loved it!
It was good.
I'm pretty neutral.
Not really my style.
It left me cold.
