Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
The Right Thing
by Rick Jachimiak

i can count on me
To do the right thing.
I think that's true.

But, if I slip...
If I wander...
If I get confused...
Can I count on you to see me through?

And if you slip...
If you wander...
If you get confused...
Can you count on me to see you through?

I wonder...
I wander...
I get confused...

I hope you're not as scared as me.

I think...
I realize...
I see a clue...
I think I need to be there for you.

I'll be your strength.
I'll be your guide.
If you want me to.

I'll love you
And hold you
And hope you love me too.

So, let's work together.
Let's make the pledge
To follow the golden rule,

And depend on each other
To do the right thing:
You be there for me
And I'll be there for you.

What did you think of this poem?
I loved it!
It was good.
I'm pretty neutral.
Not really my style.
It left me cold.
