People With These First Names Make More

If your name is David or Susan, you may very well be richer than the rest of us.

Barclays of Britain conducted an unscientific but fascinating survey of their 60,000 premier banking customers. The really rich ones. The ones who all make more than $182,000 a year. The kind who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth or at least earned the money along the way to make sure their kids were.

Barclays compiled a list of the first names of these rich folks. And the No. 1 name for men was David, while Susan topped the list for women. "If you want your newborn to keep you in the manner to which you have become accustomed in your old age you should consider the latest list of high earners' names," Barclays premier banking marketing director Mark Till told DeHavilland Information Services.

The top 20 list follows for both genders, but as CNN/Money wisely points out, this list was created using British names. So while David, John, Susan and Elizabeth are popular on both sides of the Atlantic, Simon, Ian, Martin and Nicola might not be the richest kids on the block in the United States.
