Griffin sets FBS record for avoiding interceptions

WACO, Texas (AP) -Baylor freshman Robert Griffin set a major college football record Saturday for most pass attempts to start a career without an interception.

Griffin broke the mark of 202 that was set by Southern California's Brad Otton from 1994-95. Griffin had already set the FBS record for most attempts by a freshman to start a career, with 175 before adding 30 to that total through the third quarter against No. 14 Missouri.

At 205, Griffin was only eight short of the overall Big 12 record of 213 consecutive passes without interception.
