• Asus G75VW-AS71 (Core i7 3610QM)
Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The Asus G75VW-AS71 has a cutting-edge processor, a new Nvidia GPU, a slightly thinned-down body, a matte antiglare screen, and faster ports and connections than its predecessor, including tons of USB 3.0 ports and Thunderbolt.
Bad: This laptop?s still not cheap: it may not be $2,000, but it?s far more expensive than the average laptop. And, let?s face it: this machine?s still a boat. The performance lags behind that of even more powerful gaming laptops like the Origin EON17-S.
Bottom Line: If you want to buy a ?budget? gaming laptop, the Asus G75VW-AS71 offers plenty of horsepower and features in its heavy 17-inch body. Just don?t expect anything svelte -- or good battery life. [Read more]

• Sony Xperia P
Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The Sony Xperia P has a beautiful design and good build quality, with a brushed-aluminum chassis and a bright 4-inch display.
Bad: The Xperia P only runs Gingerbread (Android 2.3) and the battery isn't removable. There's no expandable memory slot and its reception suffers from a "death grip."
Bottom Line: The Sony Xperia P is one of the better handsets from Sony Mobile this year. It has great build quality and the display is bright enough to use outdoors. [Read more]

• Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-N 600mW Gigabit Dual Band Router R20000G
Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-N 600mW Gigabit Dual Band Router R20000G supports true dual-band connectivity and USB-based network storage. It offers decent range on the 2.4GHz band and very good data rates on the 5GHz band.
Bad: Amped Wireless' R20000G doesn't support the 450Mbps standard, runs hot, and has terrible data rates on the 2.4GHz band and relatively short range on the 5GHz band. The router's built-in USB port doesn't support printers and didn't fare very well in terms of storage performance, either.
Bottom Line: Despite the added features, the Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-N 600mW Gigabit Dual Band Router R20000G doesn't impress as much as the previous model, and hence fails to justify its higher price tag. [Read more]

Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The Philips O'Neill The Stretch TR 55LX are attractively styled, very comfortable, and relatively lightweight for over-the-ear headphones. They're also modestly priced and you can detach the headphone cord.
Bad: Sound could be more dynamic and detailed; no built-in microphone; headphones don't fold flat.
Bottom Line: The Philips O'Neill The Stretch TR 55LX get a birdie for design but only hit par for sound quality. [Read more]
