The Top 30 Most Bizarre Pet Names

Bella! Max! Those are the names you're most likely to hear called at a dog park. But that doesn't mean you'll only hear those.

But that doesn't mean you'll only hear those. Thousands of dogs and cats have been given, um, unusual names. Or wacky. Or ridiculous. Or clever. Choose your adjective.

So if you think Max is too mundane and insist Bella is just plain boring, you might find Chew Barka or Pico de Gato more to your liking when it comes to naming your precious new puppy or kitten.

Veterinary Pet Insurance has long tracked the most popular pet names, but now it's also keeping a record of the most unusual names among its half-million insured pets.

For this list, VPI employees selected the oddest names and then voted on them to come up with the winners.
