Naked Truth: What We Do in the Shower!

When it comes to showering--and what we do when the water is running--the sexes vary greatly.

Thanks to the Olay Shower Secrets Survey, a nationwide poll meant to uncover the naked truth and steamy secrets of the shower, we now know what men and women do and think when the water is running and no one else is looking.

Besides getting clean, why shower?
Women are more likely to view showers as a destination where they can escape, take their time and think without interruptions, while men view showers as just another part of their daily routine.

Ooh la la! Ever showered with someone else?
Survey results send stereotypes about gender preferences down the drain. Women are generally considered the more romantic gender, but the survey found that men are more likely than women to prefer to shower with a partner. Two in three Americans have showered with another, but more men (63 percent) than women (52 percent) report having showered with another person "for fun."

If you could shower with a celebrity, who would it be?
Thirty-eight percent of men chose Angelina Jolie, followed by 23 percent who named Halle Berry and 16 percent who picked Jennifer Aniston. Meanwhile, 31 percent of women opted for George Clooney, 23 percent fantasized about Brad Pitt and 20 percent dreamed about Tom Cruise.

How long do you shower?
Most Americans say their longest shower ever was 26 minutes. The majority of both women and men said the reason for that marathon shower was because it felt good or was out of necessity because they were tired, hurt or ill. More women said their longest shower was an attempt to get some privacy, while more men admitted their longest shower was due to a romantic encounter.

Are women cleaner or are men just faster?
Women prefer to take their time in the shower, spending more than 10 minutes, while men are in and out in 10 minutes or less.

Dirty thoughts: What do you think about while showering?
Men split their time daydreaming about sex (57 percent) and thinking about work (57 percent). While women spend more time in the shower, they are not necessarily relaxing. When asked what they think while showering, women named weight and fitness (54 percent) and household chores (55 percent.)
