It's no surprise people steal towels and robes from hotel rooms.
But why would they take chair cushions or light bulbs? Is the risk of glass shattering in the suitcase really worth it?
Novotel Hotels assembled a list of the top 10 most-lifted items from their properties:
4. TV remote controls
5. Light bulbs
6. Mini-bar contents
7. Clothes hangers
8. Bathroom display trays
9. Coffee sachets
10. Plastic tissue boxes
It also unlocked the lost and found department to reveal the top 10 most unusual items left behind by guests:
1. Mobile phone chargers
3. False teeth and hearing aids
4. Odd shoes and items of clothing
5. Car keys and house keys
6. Toiletries bags
7. Adult toys
8. Electric toothbrushes
"We continue to be mystified by the random collection of items left in our rooms by guests at our hotels. Our lost property departments really are treasure troves," said Melissa Micallef, marketing manager for Novotel.
While mobile phone chargers and underwear top the list of most common items left behind, among the more unusual items guests forgot to take with them when they checked out were a roll of carpet, sports car keys, a number of wigs and walking sticks, a baby car seat, a guitar and a collection of men's dinner suits.
